The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident, involving a pedestrian that occurred near the intersection of Pierce Avenue and Sheffield Road. The accident took place at around 7:00 a.m., on September 11, 2019. It was reported that 37-year-old Jason Simmons, was pushing a bike while attempting to cross the road and was struck by a vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old female. The female was driving a 2019, white in color, Toyota Camry. The male was transported to the Navicent hospital.
According to the coroner’s office, Simmons passed at around 4:30 p.m. , in the I.C.U. on Sunday. No one else was injured during this accident.

Pedestrian Involved Accident with Injuries
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident, involving a pedestrian that occurred near the intersection of Pierce Ave and Sheffield Road. The accident took place at around 7:00 a.m. It was reported that a 37-year-old white male, was pushing a bike while attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old female. The female was driving a 2019, white in color, Toyota Camry. The male was transported to the Navicent hospital . He is listed to be in critical condition. No one else was injured during this accident.
No charges are pending at this time. The name of the pedestrian will be released once next of kin is notified.
