Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a personal robbery at the McDonalds Restaurant located at 5020 Harrison Road just after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. It was reported that the 73 year old female victim had went into the ladies restroom at the restaurant and had set her purse down. The suspect came into the ladies restroom and snatched the purse from the floor and ran out of the restaurant. The only description given at the time was that the suspect was wearing red canvas tennis shoes with white soles.

A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy was flagged down as she turned onto Harrison Road by a black male outside the Americas Best Inn. Also standing in the parking lot was a black female wearing acid washed jeans and red shoes like the ones described in the lookout. She also was going through a purse. When the deputy approached the female, she ran across Harrison Road towards the VFW. As deputies chased the female through a wood line, she tossed the purse and black head wrap she was wearing. Deputies lost sight of her but spotted her again a short time later on Wilson Road. She was taken into custody by deputies and investigators assisting in the search and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division. The suspect was identified as 26 year old Yteka Johnson. She was charged with Robbery by Snatching. Johnson also had warrant for a Probation Violation.

The victim’s purse was returned to her along with cash and other contents of the purse. She was not injured during the incident.
