Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a Macon man for Shoplifting and Carrying a Concealed Weapon without a Permit. On July 20, 2019, at 3:15 p.m. deputies were called to the Walmart at 6020 Harrison Road for a person shoplifting.
Upon arrival, deputies were informed by the Loss Prevention Officer for Walmart that 38-year-old Joshua Glenn Childers, of Gray, had taken items totaling $138.00 without paying for the merchandise. When deputies checked Childers for weapons they found a 9mm handgun on his person, hidden under his shirt inside the waistband of his pant. Childers did not have a permit for the weapon.
Childers was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Shoplifting, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He is being held on a $5,315.00 bond at this time.
