On June 27, 2019, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol arrested a Macon woman for theft of a vehicle. Deputies were called to an address in the 100 block of Gardner Street in regards to a stolen auto. It was reported that 42-year-old Carlo Kendrick, of Macon, had allowed 24-year-old Shakerria Nechole Jones to stay at his house overnight. When he woke up the next morning he found Jones gone and his Cadillac Brougham was missing.

While deputies were talking with Kendrick there was a call of a Cadillac traveling on Vineville Avenue on the wrong side of the road. Deputies were able to catch up to the vehicle in Forsyth Road near Zebulon Road. Deputies stopped the car in the Ace Hardware on Forsyth Road. Jones was driving the vehicle and was detained.

When deputies checked the vehicle they found a pistol in the vehicle under Jones’ jacket. When deputies checked the pistol it was discovered that it had been reported stolen out of Warner Robins.

Jones was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Theft by Taking Motor Vehicle and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. She is being held on a $5,700.00 bond at this time.
