Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a Macon man for possession of Cocaine during a traffic stop. Deputies were patrolling the area of Pansy Avenue and Daffodil Avenue when they witnessed a burgundy S.U.V. fail to stop at the stop sign.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 54-year-old Larry Eugene Phelps. While talking to Phelps deputies noticed that he was trying to hide something in his hand. When deputies asked about it, Phelps opened his hand and gave the deputies a small bag of cocaine. When deputies searched Phelps they located another bag of cocaine in his boot.
Phelps was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Failure to Stop at Stop Sign. He was released on an $8,710.00 bond on June 25, 2019.
