A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigator arrests a Macon man in connection to the Murder of his wife, in a 2019 suspicious death case.

On November 29, 2019, at 01:25 a.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 202 Greenview Terrace regarding a deceased person. Upon arrival deputies found 60-year-old Joyce Fox Judie deceased in a downstairs bedroom. Deputies made contact with her husband 65-year-old Edward Judie, and he told deputies that he and his wife had been drinking and that he thought she was asleep.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators were called to the scene and interviewed Edward. An autopsy was scheduled for Joyce.

Investigators continued to investigate the case, and were informed from the autopsy report that Joyce had many times the lethal dose of cocaine in her system on the night she died. Investigators were also able to determine that Edward had purchased cocaine that same night.

On July 1, 2021, just before 6:00 p.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators made contact with Edward Judie and conducted an interview. Investigators confronted Judie with the evidence they had collected. During the interview, Edward’s story continued to change every time he was presented with evidence that conflicted with his prior statements.

Edward was transported to the Bibb County jail and charged with Murder. He is being held without bond at this time. This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751 -7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
