On August 20, 2019, Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies were working speed enforcement on Hawkinsville Road near Barnes Ferry Road. Deputies witnessed a Dodge Caravan pass a stopped school bus with all the lights and stop sign activated.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 58-year-old Arthur James Ballard of Macon. It was determined that Ballard did not have a driver’s license.
Ballard was taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with Failure to Stop for School Bus Unloading and Driving While Unlicensed. He released on a $1,560.00 on August 20, 2019.
