Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators made a second arrest in connection to the February 4, 2018 fatal shooting of 33 year old Javaris Antoine Brown.  A Crime Stopper’s tip was called in and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force along with the Bibb County Gang Unit, arrested 40 year old Karen Rena Morton-Beddingfield, without incident at around 7:30p.m. Wednesday night.

Beddingfield is the wife of 25 year old Keith Beddingfield Jr., who was arrested on February 11, 2018 in connection to the same fatal shooting.

Beddingfield is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond, for the charge of Murder.

 Arrest made in Fatal Shooting on Carling Avenue

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators along with Officers from Pardons and Parole arrested 25yr old Keith Beddingfield Jr. for the murder of Javaris Antoine Brown. Beddingfield was taken into custody without incident and interviewed at the Investigations Office. Beddingfield is currently being held without bond for the charge of murder and a separate charge of parole violation.

Fatal Shooting on Carling Avenue

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the 1200 block of Carling Avenue on Sunday afternoon. A passerby called the Sheriff’s Office at around 4:52 p.m. in reference to an unresponsive person sitting in their vehicle. When deputies arrived, they found that the male was a victim of a fatal shooting.  No one else was injured during this incident.

Investigators and Crime Scene investigators are at the scene. We are still in the early stages of this investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

The victim of the fatal shooting is 33 year old Javaris Antoine Brown of Macon. The next of kin has been notified.
