The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a personal armed robbery suspect. 

The incident occurred Sunday, January 5, 2020. It was reported that a male approached a 63-year-old female leaving New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, located at 795 Maynard Street.  The victim was walking to her vehicle, that was  parked across the street from the church. As the victim approached her vehicle, the suspect appeared from behind the bushes and pointed a gun at the victim and demanded her purse. After receiving the purse the suspect fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as being a light skin black male, around five foot nine inches tall, medium build with a tattoo under his right eye. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, black knit gloves, black ski mask with a zipper, and a black  sweat shirt.  

At the time of the incident deputies spotted the suspect and he fled. Deputies in the area were able to recover the victim’s purse, the clothing the suspect took off, and the hand gun the suspect discarded while fleeing.  The victim’s purse was returned but was missing some of its contents.
