Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators charged a man in connection to a Personal Armed Robbery that occurred at around 11:30 a.m., Saturday morning.

 It was reported that a man knocked on the door of a residence, located on Third Avenue. The occupants of the home were familiar with the man and opened the door. The suspect, 19-year-old, Jyquiese Jalik Phillips of Macon, brandished a gun and demanded that the occupants of the home give him a rifle that was located inside of the residence. Once he received the rifle, Phillips left the residence. No one was injured during this incident.

A short time later, patrol deputies were flagged down by a woman, on Forest Hill Road. She stated that Phillips, two females, and a small child were in a vehicle, headed towards Arlington Place. Phillips and one of the females were reported to have been involved in a domestic dispute inside of the vehicle. Deputies also learned that Phillips was also involved in the personal armed robbery incident that took place on Third Avenue.

The Patrol deputies went to Arlington Place to look for Phillips. While in the area of Arlington Place, deputies located Phillips driving down the road. Deputies conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, deputies saw the rifle next to the driver’s seat. Phillips refused comply with deputies commands and was tased during the traffic stop. Phillips was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The rifle was turned over to the Crime Lab as evidence.  The females and the small child were not injured during this incident.

Phillips is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charges of Armed Robbery, Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers, Simple Battery, and Cruelty to Children. Phillips is being held without bond.
