The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident, involving a pedestrian that occurred at around 7:24a.m. Friday morning, on Arkwright Road. It was reported that a 2018 Nissan Sentra was attempting to make a right turn onto Arkwright Road, from Sheraton Road, when a female walked into the path of the vehicle. Witnesses stated driver of the Nissan, 19 year old Christina Desanto of Pennsylvania, had the green light as she was turning onto Arkwright Road. Desanto stated that she didn’t see the pedestrian, 58 year old Regina Mullins of Macon as she was walking across Arkwright Road from the area of River Place Drive. Desanto’s vehicle struck Mullins as she was turning onto Arkwright Road.

Mullins was transported to the Navicent Health by ambulance. Mullins is listed to be in stable condition.

No one else was injured during this incident. No charges have been filed.
