The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Williamson Rd. at the intersection of Bloomfield Dr., just before 06:00pm Saturday night. It was reported that a Chevy Caprice Classic Station wagon, driven by 28 yr. old Edwin Jamaal Williams of Macon, was traveling west bound on Williamson Rd when he ran a red light. Williams’s vehicle struck a Ford Explorer, driven by 47yr old Precell Carlton Brooks Jr. of Macon, which was traveling south on Bloomfield Dr… Brooks’ vehicle overturned and he was ejected from the vehicle. Williams’ vehicle continued on and struck the front of the Abundant Harvest Church. Williams and Brooks were transported to the Navicent Health Medical Center, where Brooks was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. His next of kin was notified. Williams is listed in stable condition at this time.

It was determined by witness statements that Williams’ had been involved in a domestic altercation at 3535 Williamson Rd, College Park Apartments, just prior to the accident. It was reported that Williams assaulted his girlfriend, 23yr old Kristy Nicoshen Buckner, by chocking her. Williams then left the apartment, at which point Buckner retrieved a pistol and went after Williams.  Williams fled the apartment complex in his vehicle. Buckner got in her Honda Accord and began to follow Williams. Buckner fired several shots at Williams’ vehicle. Williams attempted to get away from Buckner and made a right onto Williamson Rd. As they approached the intersection with Bloomfield Dr., Williams ran the traffic light and collided with Brooks’ vehicle.

Buckner returned to her apartment. Deputies made contact with her and she was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations to be interviewed.

Kristy Buckner is being charged with murder for the death of Precell Brooks Jr. and aggravated assault for shooting at Williams. Buckner was transported to the Bibb County Jail.  Williams is being charged with aggravated assault for chocking Buckner. Williams is in the hospital at this time.
