The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the G.B.I. Medical Examiner that the death of 48-year-old Carlos Delmara Shelley was determined to be a homicide.
Investigators have charged 50-year-old Joseph Anthony Moore, of Macon, with Aggravated Assault, and Murder, in relation to Shelley’s death. Moore is being held without bond at this time.
This incident continues to be under investigation.

Death Investigation of Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Jail Inmate
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are looking into the death of an inmate that was serving time at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office jail. A 48-year-old male was found unconscious in his cell at 9:02 p.m., Thursday. Deputies and medical staff at the jail attempted to revive the male. He was pronounced deceased by Coroner Leon Jones.
An autopsy will be performed according to the Bibb County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death. This incident is under investigation.
