The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday night at around 9:30 p.m. at the Subway located at 3624 Mercer University Drive. It was reported that the suspect, a tall black male, slender in build, entered the front door of the business brandishing a revolver. The suspect demanded the employee to open the safe and the cash register. The employee told the suspect he could not open the safe but did open the register. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register drawer and the employee’s cellphone. He ran out of the restaurant towards Mercer University Drive. The employee was not injured during the incident.
The suspect was described as wearing a black shirt wrapped around his head. He was wearing a long navy blue shirt, long black pants and black shoes.
