The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal armed robbery that took place just after 1:00 p.m. Friday at 6000 Harrison Road. It was reported that 29 year old Douglas Newberry arrived at Bridgeview Hotel, to meet with two subjects to sell them a drone and a pair of headphones. It was reported that Newberry met with two white males in the parking lot. The suspects struck Newberry in the head with what is believed to be brass knuckles. Once the suspects took Newberry belongings Newberry ran over to Murphy’s gas station to get away from them. A witness saw Newberry and called for help.

The suspects were later identified as 33 year old Zachary Saccente and 44 year old Robbie Hudson. Both suspects were located inside the hotel and taken into custody without incident. All items taken during this incident was returned to Newberry.

Newberry was transported to the hospital by ambulance. His injuries are non-life threatening. Newberry is listed to be in stable condition.
