The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred at 10:20am Friday morning, near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Oglesby Place.

It was reported that the driver of a 2003 Ford Expedition, 38 year old William Barber, from Macon, was traveling west on Eisenhower Parkway. According to witnesses, Barber’s vehicle left the roadway, crossed into a ditch and then struck a parked, unoccupied, U-Haul Truck. No one else was involved , nor injured in this accident.

 According to witness statements, it is believed that Barber had a medical issue and that was the cause of the fatal accident.

 Barber was transported to the Navicent Health Center, where he was pronounced dead by the Emergency Center doctors.   The next of kin has been notified.
