Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 50 year-old Larry Vernon Bates, of Macon just before 01:30am in connection to multiple identity theft cases. Bates was taken into custody at his residence after a short struggle with patrol deputies.

It was reported that Bates had used fraudulent identifications to either apply for lines of credit or to buy items at multiple locations. Bates started in early 2018 using the identifications with other’s names and social security numbers, with his picture to the fraudulent identification cards. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Property Investigators were able to link Bates to the crimes by the photos that he used.

Bates is charged with ten counts of Felony Identity Fraud, five counts of Felony Theft by Deception and forty one counts of Forgery. Bates was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He has a bond amount of $164,450.00. Bates is also wanted by three other agencies.
