The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in helping locate a missing person.  

According to investigators, 47-year-old Walter Wilson Akers, has not been in contact with his family, who lives out of state, since February 2021. Akers is reported to be homeless and is known to frequent the downtown Macon area. He is not believed to be in any danger. The family stated that he has some medical and mental health issues.  The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in helping locate Akers.

 Akers is described as a white male, he is approximately 6 feet and 2 inches in height, and weighs around 170 to 175 pounds. Akers has blonde hair and blue eyes. Akers is also an amputee and is missing his left leg.
