Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested 21-year-old Ja’Kobe Alonzo Archie of Macon, in connection to the death of 16-year-old Kymelo Early.

Archie met with met with investigators at the Investigations Division on Monday night, and was interviewed about the incident that took place on Houston Avenue. After Archie was interviewed, he was transported to the Bibb County Law enforcement Center.

Archie is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond, for the charge of Involuntary Manslaughter.

Death Investigation on Houston Avenue

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that took place in the parking lot of Friends Food Mart, located at 3350 Houston Avenue. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb County 911 Center at 8:09 p.m.

It was reported that a group of males were in the parking lot of the business, when one of the males was shot. The victim, 16-year-old Kymelo Early, was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance. Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones stated that Early was pronounced deceased at 8:59 p.m.

According to Coroner Jones, the next of kin has been notified.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating the incident. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
