Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 67 year old Delores Gibson-Council in connection with the shooting incident involving a 14 year old juvenile in the 3400 block of Flamingo Drive Saturday night. Council was transported to the Criminal Investigative Division after the incident to be questioned.

Council reported as she was driving on Flamingo Drive just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday when she came upon a large group of juveniles in the roadway. She blew the horn for them to move out of the roadway. She reported hearing a gunshot. The victim walked up to her driver’s door and made a threat verbally to her. Gibson had a firearm in the vehicle, picked it up and fired one shot at the victim, striking him in the abdomen. The 14 year old victim remains in the hospital. His condition is critical, but stable.

It was also reported that Council’s home was burglarized earlier in the day Saturday and she thought the 14 year old was involved in that incident. That is also being looked into by investigators. No further information is available on that incident at this time.

Gibson was charged with aggravated assault and was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where she was booked on the charge earlier Sunday morning. She currently does not have a bond set.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
