The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained a warrant for the charge of aggravated assault against 19 yr. old Jeffery Austin Burnette of Byron.
Burnette’s family turned him over to the Byron Police Department at around 11:40p.m. Burnette was turned over to Bibb Sheriff’s deputies and was later transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigation Office, to be interviewed.
At around 2:03a.m. Monday morning, Burnette booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and is currently being held for the charge of Aggravated Assault.
The juvenile remains at the Navicent Health Center. He is listed to be in critical, but stable condition.

Aggravated Assault in south Bibb
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault that took place in a parking lot, located at 5421 Houston Road. The incident took place at around 6:36p.m. Sunday evening. When deputies arrived, they found that a 15 year old male had been shot.
According to witnesses, three white males fled the scene, shortly after the incident occurred, in a silver in color, Honda car. The suspects were last seen, headed south on Houston Road.
One of the male suspects was described as possibly having long blonde hair, the second suspect had black hair, and the third suspect was reported to have had very short brown hair. No further description was given.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
Paramedics transported the juvenile to the Navicent Health Center. He is currently listed to be in critical condition. No one else was injured during this incident.
