The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred in the parking lot of the Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center at 9:52 p.m.
It was reported that there was a large crowd parking in the area of 180 Willie Smoke Glover Drive. Deputies were called out regarding vehicles blocking parts of the roadway and while they were clearing the area shots could be heard.
During the incident a 24-year-old male and 23-year-old male were struck. The 24-year-old victim was struck in the right hand, he was taken the Navicent Health Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. The 23-year-old victim was struck in the left thigh and was taken the Navicent Health Medical Center. He is listed in stable condition.
The witnesses stated there were multiple males in the parking lot of the Elaine H. Lucas Senior Center, who started firing into the crowd. The suspects fled the scene before deputies could get to the area. There is no further information on the suspects. No one else was injured during the incident.
