Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a woman being hit by a train at around 5:42a.m. Tuesday morning. It was reported that 29 year old Margaret Frances Tucker of Forsyth and a male friend parked in a wooded area near Hawkinsville Road and its intersection with Broadway.  The two walked south along the railroad tracks when a train came upon them. The male was able to get off of the railroad tracks, but the female was struck before she was able to get off of the tracks.  Train workers stopped the train and rendered aid until rescuers could arrive.  The male friend immediately left the scene and called anonymously to the 911 center.  Tucker was located approximately 600 yards from where they parked her vehicle.

Tucker was transported to the Navicent Health and is reported to be in stable condition.  This incident is under investigation.
