The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified that 80yr old Richard Rozier of Dublin GA was pronounced dead at 1337hrs at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta. He is the fourth victim in the accident that had died. Gerard Thompson of Palmetto Ga will be charged with a fourth count of vehicular homicide in relation to the death of Rozier. Thompson is currently out on bond for the original charges. The family of Rozier has been notified.

UPDATE:Fatal Traffic Accident On I-16 West Near Ocmulgee East Boulevard
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an accident with injuries just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on I-16 Westbound, west of Ocmulgee East Boulevard involving several vehicles. It was reported that traffic was slowing and some almost at a stop as there was some work being done on the westbound side of I-16. A tractor trailer driven by 49 year old Gerard Thompson of Palmetto Georgia was traveling westbound on I-16. Thompson struck a full size pickup truck knocking it into a smaller vehicle. The tractor trailer, full-size pickup and small car caught on fire. Information on the pickup and small vehicle are not available at this time. Two of the three victims fatally injured in the accident have been identified by the Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. 81 year old, Marjorie Jones, of Dublin and 84 year old, Robert Day ,of Vidalia were the two identified. The third victim has not been identified. A total of 8 vehicles were involved in the accident. Thompson has been charged with 3 counts of vehicular homicide and I count of reckless driving. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
