The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 6:47 p.m. of a suspicious package in the 3900 block of Northside Drive.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and located a package on the shoulder of Northside Drive. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Bomb Disposal Unit was called out to check the package. Northside Drive was blocked off from the 3800 block to the 4100 block for public safety while deputies were investigating the package. Information will be released as it becomes available. The public is asked to avoid the area while deputies investigate the incident.
The Bibb County Bomb Disposal Unit was able to clear the package, and determine that it was a piece of electronic office equipment. All suspicious packages like this are treated as if they are an explosive device, for public safety. The roadway is back open.
