Update: Suspect Shot During Attempted Commercial Armed Robbery

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested and charged 22 year old Rarrekcus Delbridge of Lawrenceville Georgia with Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault in connection with the attempted armed robbery Saturday morning just before 9:15 a.m. at Discount Check Cashing, located at 1411 Rocky Creek Road.  Delbridge is currently being treated at the Navicent Health Hospital for a gunshot wound to the left leg. When released, Delbridge will be transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

The second suspect is still being sought. He was last seen running behind the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 1425 Rocky Creek Road. He is described as a black male, wears his hair in dreads and was wearing a red zip up hoodie jacket and black pants.

Suspect Shot During Attempted Commercial Armed Robbery

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call just before 9:15 a.m. at Discount Check Cashing, located at 1411 Rocky Creek Road, in reference to an armed robbery and person shot. It was reported that the manager and an employee of the business heard noises in the ceiling and as the manager was investigating, two black males fell through the ceiling of the business.

The suspects attempted to rob the business. During the attempted robbery one of the suspects exchanged gunfire with a gentleman that was also in the store at the time, who also was armed. One suspect was was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital by ambulance with a gunshot wound. His condition and identity is not available at this time. The second suspect ran from the business and escaped on foot. He is described as a black male with dreads, wearing a red sweatshirt. It is not known at this time if this suspect was struck by the gunfire.
