Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators identified and arrested a suspect in connection with the death investigation of 28-year-old Elijah Rasheed.

On March 31, 2022, Elijah Rasheed was transported to the Piedmont Northside Hospital emergency room by a personal vehicle, in reference to a gunshot wound. Investigators were notified of the person shot call and immediately responded. Rasheed was then transported from the Piedmont Northside Hospital to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the location of the shooting took place in the parking lot of the Family Dollar, located at 3600 Napier Avenue.Investigators were able to identify 25-year-old Brian Marquel Greene as a suspect in this investigation. Warrants were issued for Greene’s arrest and he was taken into custody on Monday afternoon, April 4, 2022.Greene is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond, for the charges of Murder and (2) counts of Aggravated Assault. Greene was also served with an outstanding warrant on an unrelated charge of Simple Battery. He also has a Probation Violation- Felony charge and he also has a “Hold” from the Atrium Health Navicent Police Department.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a person shot. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center at 7:17 p.m. Thursday from a local hospital.

The 28-year-old male victim, later identified as Elijah Rasheed, was transported to the hospital by vehicle, where he passed away from his injuries. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been contacted. The circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation. More details will be released once they become available.
