The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office closed off a small section of Riverside Drive near Broadway to all vehicle traffic due to a broken water pipe on Friday, July 3, 2015. This section of Riverside Drive remains closed until repairs are made to the pipe and the road. According to personnel on site with Macon Water Authority it will be Wednesday at the earliest for the repairs to be completed, but could take longer.
Riverside Drive will remain closed from Walnut Street east to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Broadway at Walnut Street north to Riverside Drive. All vehicle traffic is being detoured around this area. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office will update you on information of the road closure as we receive it from Macon Water Authority and the Georgia Department of Transportation. We are asking motorist to avoid this area as repairs are being completed.
