The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run traffic collision, involving a pedestrian with a serious injury. The collision happened on Pio Nono Avenue at Carroll Street. This incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 9:17 p.m.

It was reported that deputies responded to a call of an unresponsive female, in the roadway. After further investigation into this incident, it was discovered that the female, identified as 52-year-old Audrey Mack, was the victim of a hit and run.

Traffic Investigators were called to the scene and are investigating the incident. There is no information available at this time in reference to the vehicle that struck the female. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

The female victim was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance and was later pronounced deceased. According to the Coroner’s Office, the next of kin has been notified.
