The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian traffic collision which occurred on Tucker Road just south of Weatherby Drive at 7:20 a.m.
It was reported that a Ford Explorer was traveling south on Tucker Road. A 40-year-old male was traveling down the two-lane road when an 11-year-old male crossed the street in front of the vehicle. The pedestrian was struck by the Ford Explorer. The pedestrian was transported to Atrium-Navicent Healthcare to be treated for his injuries. According to Coroner Luanne Stone, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The next of kin has been notified. The victim has been identified as 11-year-old Shamaar Palmer.
This traffic collision is still under investigation.

Pedestrian Traffic Collision on Tucker Rd
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian traffic collision which occurred on Tucker Road just south of Weatherby Drive at 7:20 a.m.
It was reported that a Ford Explorer was traveling south on Tucker Road. A 40-year-old male was traveling down the two-lane road when an 11-year-old male crossed the street in front of the vehicle. The 11-year-old male was struck by the Explorer. The 11-year-old was transported to Atrium-Navicent Healthcare. According to medical technicians the victim succumbed to his injuries. No one else was injured. The next of kin has been notified. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office will not release the victim’s name at this time.
This collision is still under investigation.
