Deputies along with the U.S. Marshals South East Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Macon man in connection with the Murder of 30-year-old Shakema Dixon on November 7, 2019 at Pio Nono Circle.
21-year-old Austin Sharrod Mason was witnessed at his residence in the 4300 block of Pinedale Drive today at 2:31 p.m. Mason saw deputies and Marshals approaching and ran from them. He was taken into custody without incident a short distance away in a drainage culvert.
He was taken to the Investigations Office and then taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault and Cruelty to Children First Degree. He also had warrants for Criminal Damage to Property and Simple Battery Family Violence in an unrelated case. He is being held without bond at this time.

Assistance Needed in Identifying Homicide Suspect
Around 5:30 p.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were able to make contact with Darrell Dexter Solomon and convinced him to meet with them and answer questions in regards to the murder and shooting incident.
During the interview with Solomon, it was determined that he was not the person who shot the victims on Pio Nono Circle. The initial evidence and Solomon fleeing the scene pointed to Solomon being the suspect. Investigators who were still on the scene were able to locate a video of another person of interest in the incident.
It was reported that an unknown black male entered the residence on Pio Nono Circle and started shooting, that is when the 30-year-old victim and her two-year-old daughter were shot. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black pants. A picture of the person of interest is attached to the release.
The two-year-old infant has been downgraded from critical to stable condition at this time.

Assistance Needed in Locating Homicide Suspect
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that was reported to have occurred in the 3300 block of Pio Nono Circle, at 12:55 p.m.
Deputies arrived on the scene and found a 30-year-old female and two-year-old infant inside the residence with gunshot wounds. It was determined that there was a dispute between the adult female victim and 19-year-old Darrell Dexter Solomon, of Macon. During the dispute, Solomon shot both victims multiple times.
The adult female victim was holding her two-year-old infant daughter and tried to protect her when Solomon began shooting, but they were both struck multiple times. It is unclear as to the relationship between Solomon and the victims at this time. Both victims were taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center. The 30-year-old female victim was pronounced deceased at the Medical Center by staff. The infant is listed in critical condition at this time. No one else was injured during the incident. Next of kin has been notified.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the Public’s assistance in locating 19-year-old Darrell Dexter Solomon. Who fled the scene after shooting the mother and her two-year-old daughter. If anyone comes in contact with Solomon they are asked to notify the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Solomon is considered armed and dangerous. Pictures of Solomon are attached to the release.
