The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators were able to determine the shooting of 27-year-old Doug Boyd happened at 4211 Napier Avenue on April 19, 2020, at approximately 1:35 p.m.
Boyd was picked up near that location by a friend. The friend was driving him to the hospital when they noticed deputies and firefighters working an accident on Napier Avenue. Boyd was transported by ambulance to the Navicent Health where he was pronounced deceased. There is no information on the suspect currently. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Aggravated Assault Incident in North Macon
The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred at an unknown location on Napier Avenue at approximately 1:35 p.m.
A 27-year-old male was shot once in the chest. He was transported to the Navicent Health Medical Center and is listed in critical condition at this time. No one else was injured in the incident. There is no information on the suspect at this time. Investigators are unable to talk to the victim due to undergoing treatment for his injuries.
The 27-year-old victim, Doug Boyd, of Macon was pronounced dead at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the Navicent Health. The next of kin has been notified.
