The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred at 2:09 p.m. on Interstate 75 southbound near Eisenhower Parkway.

It was reported that a Chevrolet SUV, driven by 25-year-old Darius Riley of Perry, was traveling south on Interstate 75 just before the Eisenhower entrance ramp, when it went off the roadway and struck a concrete median barrier.

Riley was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to Atrium Health Navicent. Riley was later pronounced deceased.

The passenger, a 22-year-old female, was transported by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent to be treated for her injuries and is listed in stable condition.

According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.
