The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Hawkinsville Road, near the Monarca Ballroom.
It was reported that deputies were dispatched to a stalled vehicle in the roadway, just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. When deputies arrived, they were advised by a motorist that a person was laying in the roadway. Witnesses advised that a man was standing in the roadway near the stalled vehicle, and was struck by a passing vehicle. The female driver that struck the male did stop and was not injured during the incident.
The male later identified as 43-year-old Jin Hau Thang of Gwinnett County, was pronounced deceased on scene by Coroner Lonnie Miley.
This collision remains under investigation. There are no charges or citations at this time.
