The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Mercer University Drive near Summer Hill Drive. The accident was called into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 6:04 p.m., Monday.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a collision involving two sedans and a pickup truck. It was reported that the driver of a 2022 Hyundai Accent was traveling west on Mercer University Drive and crossed the center median. A collision then occurred with two vehicles traveling east, a 2022 Honda Civic driven by a seventy-five-year-old female of Macon, and a 2009 Ford F-150 driven by a sixty-year-old male of Macon. All parties involved in the collision were treated by paramedics and transported to Atrium Navicent Health.

The driver of the Hyundai Accent was identified as twenty-five-year-old Yeshaya Chantea Dubose of Macon. According to medical staff, Yeshaya Dubose was pronounced deceased. According to Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson, the next of kin has been notified. The Accent was also occupied by two passengers, one is in critical condition, the other in stable condition. The two other motorists involved are in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding this collision is under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Fatal Traffic Collision Investigation on Mercer University Drive

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Mercer University Drive near Summer Hill Drive. The accident was called into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 6:04 p.m., Monday.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a collision involving three motor vehicles. A silver sedan, a gray sedan, and a red pickup truck were involved in the collision. All persons involved in the collision were treated by paramedics for injuries sustained and transported to a medical facility. According to medical staff, one female motorist has succumbed to her injuries. The name of the motorist will not be released at this time. Two other motorists and three passengers were also reported injured in the collision. They are all receiving treatment for their injuries at this time.

Investigators are on the scene working to determine what caused the collision. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
