The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred Wednesday morning at around 9:35a.m. The accident occurred on Interstate 75, north bound, approximately 1 mile north of Hartley Bridge Road.

The driver of the vehicle, 48 year old Thanh Nguyen, was standing outside of the vehicle, in the emergency lane. The passenger, 63 year old Tuan Nguyen, remained inside of the Honda. Both men were from Warner Robins.

A grey colored 2006 Ford Mustang, driven by 26 year old Gary Cumming from Houston County, was traveling north on Interstate 75. The driver of the Ford Mustang saw the male standing outside of his vehicle. He moved over to the right lane of the interstate and crossed over a patch of ice that was on the roadway. The vehicle rolled backwards, striking the man who was standing outside of the Honda and continued to roll backwards, striking the Honda Accord. Thanh Nguyen and Tuan Nguyen were pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Leon Jones.
