The pedestrian, Christie Lynn Rogers died late this evening at the Navicent Health Hospital from injuries sustained in the traffic accident she was involved in earlier this morning on Gray Highway. Ms. Rogers was pronounced at 7:48PM by doctors at the hospital.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic accident with injury involving a pedestrian just after 6:00AM Tuesday morning. The accident occurred on Gray Highway near Woodvalley Road. It was reported that a white 1999 BMW Z3 was traveling southbound on Gray Highway when a female pedestrian stepped out in front of the path of the BMW and was struck. The driver of the BMW is 52 year old Zelda Williams. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the Navicent Health Hospital. She is listed in critical condition. The pedestrian is 42 year old Christie Lynn Rogers.
The accident is currently under investigation. Deputies are still on the scene and traffic in the southbound lanes of Gray Highway is being detoured around the accident site. Motorist should expect delays in traffic in this area and avoid the area if possible, taking an alternate route until the southbound lanes have been reopened.
