The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit and run that occurred near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and “C” Street. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 11:58 p.m., Friday.
According to witness statements, a male was walking across the westbound lanes of Eisenhower Parkway when he was struck by a white vehicle. The male then struck by a second vehicle that was traveling behind the white vehicle. The driver of the white vehicle left the scene and the driver of the second vehicle stopped.
The vehicle that left the scene was described as possibly being a white Chevrolet Camero.
The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bibb County Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone. According to Deputy Coroner Stone, the victim was identified as 61-year-old Lee Tukes. The next of kin has been notified.
This fatal collision investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
