The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Intelligence Unit, SRT Unit, FBI, and U.S. Marshals Service made an arrest during the recovery of the 2022 Blue Dodge Challenger on October 20, 2023. The vehicle was confirmed as the vehicle that was used in the inmate escape, that occurred on October 16, 2023.

The person in possession of the vehicle at the time of recovery was 24-year-old Jakaylen Williams. Williams was taken into custody and transported to a Law Enforcement Facility and charged with four counts of aiding or permitting another to escape lawful custody or confinement, theft by receiving stolen property, and probation violation. He was also arrested on warrants for aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and battery family violence, on an unrelated case.

Williams is being held without bond on his current charges.

Vehicle Used In Inmate Escape Recovered

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Intelligence Unit and SRT Unit recovered the Blue Dodge Challenger used in the inmate escape, that occurred on October 16, 2023. The vehicle was recovered earlier today in the parking lot of the Biomat USA, located at 630 North Avenue in Macon. The vehicle was located after Criminal Intelligence Units followed up on leads of the vehicle’s location. The vehicle information was removed from NCIC.

Sheriff David Davis said, “He appreciates the tips, and every lead that we have received is being followed up on.”
