The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the 600 block of Williams Street, just after 02:00 a.m.
Deputies responded to Williams Street regarding reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they located 16-year-old Derrick Putmon unresponsive on the sidewalk. Putmon was pronounced deceased by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley on the scene. The next of kin has been notified. No one else was injured during the incident. Investigators are working to determine what led up to the incident.
