Bibb County Sheriff Deputies arrest Robert Cummings just after 7:00pm tonight at his home without incident. Cummings has been charged with Murder.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Fatal Shooting
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person shot just before 3:00 p.m. this evening outside 264 Pansy Ave. When deputies arrived they found a male lying unresponsive on the curb with what appeared to be two gunshot wounds to the face. EMS also responded to the scene.
The victim, identified as 47year old Oscar Freeman Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. It was reported that Oscar Freeman was arguing with his cousin 55year old Robert Dewitt Cummings. During the argument it was reported Cummings retrieved a gun from a vehicle and shot Freeman. Cummings had left the scene before deputies arrived. Cummings is believed to be driving a black 2000 Chevrolet Impala, tag number ASF 6949. No further information is being released at this time.
