Melvin Curry was arrested for trafficking charges on August 7, 2018, by members of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force. Curry was charged with numerous Possession and Trafficking charges.
Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators served Curry with two additional warrants, Wednesday afternoon, in connection to a shooting incident that occurred on July 10, 2018. The two additional warrants are for the charges of Aggravated Battery and Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony.

Melvin Curry is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center with a bond of $19,890.00 for the charges of Aggravated Battery, Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony, Possession of Scheduled II Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Cocaine Illegal Drugs Marijuana, or Methamphetamine, Purchase Possession Manufacture Distribution or Sale of Marijuana (2cts), and Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute. Curry has a Probation Violation Felony and a Bond Surrender from a prior arrest.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Shooting in East Macon
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Mogul Road near Jeffersonville Road in reference to a report of a person shot just before 12:20 p.m. When deputies arrived they found 70-year old Ronnie Hall of Macon, outside in the backyard of his home with multiple gunshot wounds.
It was reported that Hall walked outside and then several gunshots were heard. It was reported that a white in color vehicle was last seen driving near the area when the incident occurred. It is not clear if this vehicle was involved in this incident.
There is no information available at this time on the description of the suspect. The victim was transported to the Navicent hospital by ambulance where he is being treated for his injuries. He is listed to be in critical condition.

Arrest Made in Drug Trafficking Incident
Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 34 year old Melvin Curry Jr., of Macon, at around 12:20p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Curry was located at a residence on Vacation Drive. Curry was taken into custody, without incident. Warrants for Curry arrest for Possession of Schedule II drugs and Drug trafficking.
On July 11, 2018 deputies attempted to make contact with Curry at the Thunderbird Liquor store located at 2585 Emery Highway. When deputies tried to speak with Curry, he fled the scene on foot leaving behind his vehicle which contained various amounts of drugs.
Curry was transported to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center where he is being held on an $8450.00 bond.
