Update: Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Child Abuse Incident
William Wright turned himself in to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at around 11:40AM this morning. Wright is charged with Cruelty to Children in reference to the incident occurring at Elam Alexander Academy involving a 14 year old male student on January 26, 2016.
Wright was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center at around 11:45AM. He was released from the Bibb County LEC on a bond of $11,200.00.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Child Abuse Incident
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating an incident that occurred at Elam Elementary School, where a 14 year old male student was physically assaulted by a teacher. The child’s arm was broken after he was tackled on the ground by the teacher. He is currently employed by the BOE.
The incident was reported to the Department of Family and Children Services on January 26, 2016 by the school. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified on February 24, 2016 by a DFACS employee who wanted to make sure the Sheriff’s Office was aware.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Crimes against Children Investigators issued an arrest warrant for 63 year old William E. Wright III for Cruelty to Children in the First Degree. Wright is a black male, 6 feet in height and weighs 250 pounds.
