Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators issued a murder warrant for the arrest of 38 year old, Russell Rogers of Macon in connection with the death of the black male victim found at 2791 Roy Street on Saturday, September 5, 2015. The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin has been notified. An autopsy is being conducted today.
Rogers was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol on Sunday, September 6, 2015 after a brief pursuit when the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle that Rogers was driving, for a speeding violation. The vehicle Rogers was driving belongs to the victim and he also had in his possession, other items that belonged to the victim. Based on this information and other information received through the investigation, a Murder warrant was signed on Rogers. He is currently being held at the Lee County Jail in Fort Meyers Florida awaiting extradition back to Bibb County.
