Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an alarm call just before 5:45AM Thursday morning at 3306 Bloomfield Drive, the Sunoco Gas Station. When Deputies arrived they discovered that the back door of the business had been pried open. When Deputies entered to clear the building they encountered three suspects inside. One of the three suspects was detained and two were able to escape on foot. The detained suspect was transported to a nearby hospital to be checked for a minor injury that he sustained when he fell trying to run from the business.
The suspect is identified as 28 year old Antwaun Bernard Smith of Macon. Smith is charged with Willful Obstruction of a law enforcement officer, Burglary, Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime and Probation Violation. Bernard has a bond set at $1,850. He remains at the Bibb County LEC.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies Capture One Suspect In Convenience Store Burglary
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an alarm call just before 5:45AM Thursday morning at 3306 Bloomfield Drive, the Sunoco Gas Station. When Deputies arrived they discovered that the back door of the business had been pried open. When Deputies entered to clear the building they encountered three suspects inside. One of the three suspects was detained and two were able to escape on foot.
