The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in helping to locate a suspect in connection with the death investigation of 59-year-old Albert Kenneth Knight. The incident occurred on May 26, 2024, in an alleyway near the intersection of Poplar Street and Second Street.
The suspect is a white male with glasses, wearing a ball cap, a green shirt that possibly says “Hilton Head Island Bike Shop” in white letters, denim jeans, and black shoes.

UPDATE: Death Investigation on Poplar Street
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in an alleyway, of First Street Lane. The call came into the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center at 11:47 a.m., Sunday.
It was reported that the victim later identified as 59-year-old Albert Kenneth Knight was found deceased in the alleyway. Investigators discovered that Knight had passed away from a severe head wound.
After further investigation, it was discovered that Knight had been struck several times in the head until his death. Investigators continue to work the case and are committed to utilizing the full resources that law enforcement can provide to resolve this case. This incident is being investigated as a homicide.
The next of kin has been notified according to Coroner Leon Jones.
The deceased will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab so that an autopsy can be performed.
