Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) arrested 20-year-old Tajiri Antwaun Harris of Macon, in connection of the death of 15-year-old Tavias La’zhae Williams. Harris was located at his home and taken into custody. He was transported to the Bibb County Criminal Investigation Unit to be interview. After he was interviewed he was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on three counts of aggravated assault and one count of murder. Harris is being held with no bond.

Death Investigation in West Macon
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that happened in the parking lot of Academy Sports, located at 1689 Eisenhower Parkway. The Macon-Bibb 911 Center was notified around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
It was reported that a 15-year-old male, later identify that as Tavias La’zhae Williams was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Southwest High School. He was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, where he later died of his injuries. Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones advised the family of Williams’ death.
Investigators are currently investigating what led up to the shooting. More information will be given once it becomes available.
