A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigator makes an arrest in connection with a death investigation on Hawkinsville Road.
On October 4, 2023, just before noon, a person of interest was transported from Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Headquarters to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The person of interest has been identified as twenty-three-year-old Joseph Cam Joyner of Macon. Joesph Cam Joyner faces charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault in connection with the death of twenty-two-year-old Devin Dewayne Fincher. Joyner does not have a bond.

Death Investigation on Hawkinsville Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Sunoco located at 6800 Hawkinsville Road.
On October 4, 2023, at 6:19 a.m., deputies responded to Sunoco regarding a person shot. Deputies arrived on the scene and found twenty-two-year-old Devin Dewayne Fincher, of Macon, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Fincher succumbed to his injury. Devin Fincher was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. The next of kin has been notified. No one else was injured during the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
