A suspect that was wanted in connection with an Aggravated Assault investigation is now in custody. The original incident occurred at the Northwood Apartments, located on Thomaston Road.

Shawndarius Johnson was wanted in connection with an Aggravated Assault investigation that took place on August 2, 2021. It was originally reported that a 26-year-old female was stabbed multiple times, during a domestic dispute. The suspect, Shawndarius Johnson fled the scene before law enforcement officials arrived. Investigators identified Johnson as the suspect, and had warrants issued for his arrest.

Johnson turned himself over to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center at around 12:07 p.m. He is being held by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for the charges of Aggravated Assault and (2) counts of Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree. Johnson does not have a bond.

The female victim has been discharged from the hospital.

Asking for the Public’s Assistance Locating an Aggravated Assault Suspect

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a wanted suspect involved in an aggravated assault incident that occurred on August 2, 2021, at Northwood Apartments located on Thomaston Road.

It was reported that on August 2, 2021, at around 10:09 a.m., a 26-year-old female victim had been stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend, 30-year-old Shawndarius Johnson. The incident started from a domestic dispute.

The victim was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by a sheriff’s office vehicle and treated for her injuries. She is in stable condition.

Johnson was last seen driving a burgundy Chrysler 300 and may have fled to Milledgeville, Georgia. He is also known to have ties in South Carolina.
