The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an aggravated assault. The incident took place at 2465 Emery Highway, and not 2585 Emery Highway at 8:03 p.m.
The original call that came into E-911 gave an address of 2585 Emery Highway Thunderbird liquor store. This address is incorrect. The incident location is 2465 Emery Highway. This building is located to the right of Thunderbird liquor store.
Witnesses stated that they pulled into the parking lot and discovered a male laying on the ground. The 43-year-old male, later identified as Terico Balkcom, was reported to have been shot.
Balkcom was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent, by ambulance. He is listed in critical condition.
This incident is still under investigation. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.

Aggravated Assault Investigation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an aggravated assault. The incident took place at 2585 Emery Highway at 8:03 p.m.
Witnesses stated that they pulled into the parking lot and discovered a male laying on the ground. The 43-year-old male was reported to have been shot.
He was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent, by ambulance. He is now listed in critical condition.
